About Ben
Every geek has a story. My interest in fixing computers began by breaking them. I started tinkering with my parents' computers and soon enough, I had to have my own rig. Soon, I was compiling my first Linux kernel and couldn't get enough time on the computer. For hours and hours, I would read and tinker with my PC. It was on the floor in pieces many times. My interest usually did not involve playing computer games—there were many other interesting things to explore. Even then, I was hoping that someday I could use my interests to make a living.
That was about ten years ago, and the enjoyment has not subsided. I am studying Management Information Systems at Iowa State University. My hope of a future reward for my tinkering was correct: I also administer the IT systems for LaMarca & Landry, P.C., a personal injury law firm in Des Moines, Iowa and consult with local businesses and individuals for their technology needs.
