My Theology

God saved me at a family church camp when I was about 12 or 13 years old. Throughout the week of preaching, my heart was heavy with guilt and I knew that I was not innocent before God and yet I did not want to humble myself to ask for forgiveness. God used the preaching one evening as well as the prompting of my parents to especially convict me of my sin and need of the the transforming work of our Savior Jesus Christ.  Until that time, I had been deceiving myself to think I was a Christian so that I would not have to admit that I was dead wrong.

  • There is a Holy Trinity in the persons of God. Jesus Christ, the only begotten of God was born of a virgin woman, Mary. He lived a perfect, sinless life through obedience to His Father and by relying on the Holy Spirit for strength. He was crucified and resurrected Himself in the self-same body. After that time, He ascended into the Heavens.
  • The Bible is God’s only inspired infallible, written word to us. It is the self-evident final authority over our lives, all creeds, and confessions of men.
  • The curse pronounced upon Adam, Eve, and the death they suffered was spiritual in nature. Jesus is our only anecdote and He has forever bridged the gap and restored what was lost in Adam (Romans 5:12-19)
  • God is sovereign in all of His Creation, creating peace and calamity, righteousness and wickedness (Isaiah 45:7, Amos 3:6). In all of God’s reigning, He is not himself sinning by compelling the wickedness of men.
  • God is loving and just in all things. The human soul, or spirit, is immortal and lives forever. God requires judicial payment for sin.
  • All Biblical prophecy is fulfilled, including the passing of the Old Covenant, the Inauguration of the New Covenant, Second Coming, Judgment, Resurrection (Jeremiah 31:31-34, Daniel 9:24, 12:1-3, Luke 21:22, Galatians 4:21-31, Colossians 1:6,23 Hebrews 1:1-2, 8:7-13, 9:28, 10:37-38, Revelation 21:3).
